After 24 Years of Service, President Elaine Lyons Announces Retirement

Dear Chamber Members and Community Partners:

After 24 incredible years, the time has come for me to trade deadlines for adventures, meetings for memories, and alarm clocks for a little more freedom. With a grateful heart and excitement for the future, I am announcing my retirement as President of the South Oklahoma City Chamber, effective January 31, 2027.

When I joined the Chamber in 2003, I could not have imagined the journey ahead or the lasting impact this organization would have on my life. Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving our members, supporting local businesses, championing community growth, and watching the South Oklahoma City Chamber evolve and thrive.

It has been an honor to work alongside business leaders, volunteers, elected officials, community partners, and organizations that care deeply about the continued success of south Oklahoma City. The relationships and friendships formed through the Chamber have made these years extraordinarily meaningful, and I will always be grateful for the trust and support you have shown me.

One of the greatest rewards of serving the Chamber has been witnessing the passion, commitment, and vision that each generation of leaders brings to our organization. Although faces and titles have changed over the years, our mission has remained strong: to advocate for businesses, strengthen our community, and create opportunities for the people and organizations we serve.

I begin this next chapter with tremendous confidence in the future of the South Oklahoma City Chamber. The strength of our membership, the dedication of our volunteer leadership, and the long-term vision for our community have positioned the Chamber for continued growth and success. I look forward to watching the organization prosper and make a positive impact for many years to come.

As I begin counting down to January 31, 2027, I intend to make the most of our remaining months together. My commitment to this Chamber, our members, and our community remains as strong as ever. I will continue serving with the same energy, enthusiasm, and passion through my final day as President.

The Board of Directors has approved the formation of a selection committee to lead the search for the Chamber’s next president. The committee is establishing a thoughtful and comprehensive process designed to identify the right leader for the organization’s next chapter. Additional information will be shared with the membership and community in the coming weeks as the transition process moves forward.

Thank you for the opportunities, support, trust, and friendships that have made these past 24 years so special. It has truly been the privilege of a lifetime to serve the businesses and people of south Oklahoma City. I will always be grateful for the role each of you has played in this remarkable journey.

With appreciation and excitement for what lies ahead,

Elaine Lyons
President
South Oklahoma City Chamber
