✨ Discovering the Hidden Gems of South OKC!
TEAM South Class XVIII had an incredible January session exploring the vibrant businesses and landmarks that make our community so special. From historic roots to modern innovation, "Hidden Gems Day" was a perfect look at why South OKC is the place to be!
The day kicked off at Wheeler District, where the class saw firsthand how this urban neighborhood continues to evolve. From there, we headed in to Calle Dos Cinco in Historic Capitol Hill to visit the brand-new Calle Dos Cinco Plaza. We want to extend a huge thank you to our hosts for sharing the rich history of the area and for the warm welcome at Mi Terroncito and Taqueria & Tortilleria Lupita. the class loved the fresh baked goods and those famous tortillas!
After a wonderful lunch at Cocina De Mino, the group toured the Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine to learn more about the significance and breathtaking architecture of this world-class site. We even made time for some midday fun on the slides at Slick City, proving that leadership and play go hand-in-hand! We wrapped up the day with a fascinating behind-the-scenes tour of the Simple Modern manufacturing facility.
A sincere thank you to every host, speaker, and business owner who opened their doors and shared their time with us. It’s experiences like these that make TEAM South such a powerful program for our local leaders.

January’s Instant Connections was a great way to kick off 2026 by building professional networks! Attendees moved through fast-paced roundtables, sharing about their businesses and making meaningful connections.
A big shoutout to Village on the Park - Oklahoma City for hosting and providing a delicious light breakfast for everyone.
